The CBC announced today that former “Sounds Like Canada” host, Shelagh Rogers will take on a new books show in the this year’s fall line-up.
According to the CBC report, the new show will “feature Rogers interviewing writers and issues affecting the literary landscape in Canada” and will be broadcast from Vancouver airing Saturdays at 3 p.m.
Another new program will be a current affairs show (also Vancouver-based) hosted by London-born, Canadian-raised Aamer Haleem.
Haleem’s show will take the afternoon spot now held by Jian Ghomeshi’s “Q,” which will move to the 10 a.m. slot following “The Current.” “Q” will continue to air at 10 p.m. (10:30 p.m. NT) each weeknight.
Sounds Like Canada was cancelled in May after Rogers announced she would leave the show.
