Six full-time editorial employees at Canadian Business and the editor of MoneySense lost their jobs last week in a massive shake-up at Rogers Publishing, Masthead Online reports.
According to the Masthead report, the Canadian Business firings included executive editor Scott Steele, features editor Andy Holloway, senior staff writer Sharda Prashad, staff writer Jeff Sanford, online managing editor Greg Enright and photo researcher David Lee were fired on Aug. 27.
Ian McGugan, editor of MoneySense, was also among the casualities. Rogers spokesperson Suneel Khanna confirmed that seven jobs were lost, but noted that “effectively all the positions will be replaced.”
These changes come about six weeks after Steve Maich was appointed editor of Canadian Business, replacing Joe Chidley, who was promoted to editor and associate publisher of a special projects unit.
In June, Deborah Rosser, publisher of Canadian Business, MoneySense and Profit, was let go and Maclean’s editor and publisher Ken Whyte took over the role.
