The real consequences of the death of print: whither papier-mch?

The Onion News Network has broadcast a panel discussion video titled How will the end of print journalism affect old loons who hoard newspapers?

A guest panellist suggests that “If the print media dies, loons will have nothing to stack in huge piles in every corner of their home.” Another retorts: “Times change — people will just have to find something else to stack.”

Another, more level-headed panelist wants us to consider the plight of people that use papers to cover the floor of their garage when they paint. And what about kindergarten teachers and their papier-mâché projects? Should the government step in to save newspapers, considering these consequences?
