A group of Newfoundland journalists has recently launched a new online news agency to service Newfoundland and Labrador. NL Press is a subscriber pay web site and media syndication service.
The service was started by six partners, including J-Source Town Hall co-editor Greg Locke. The six founders are all contributors and the service will also represent a number of freelancers.
Subcriptions to the service cost $15 per month or $135 per year.
Here’s a blurb from the site’s About page:
NL Press is an independent news agency based in St.
John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. We gather and distribute news,
information and original content about Newfoundland and Labrador in the
form of text, photo, video, audio, professional analysis. Our
experienced journalists, media producers, editors and specialists cover
the business, political, economic, legal, financial, social and
cultural news, events and trends in Canada’s eastern most province and
deliver it online around the clock every day.
To
the public, in the province or the Newfoundland and Labrador ex-pat
community scattered across the globe, we offer our subscription website
to keep them informed about what’s going at home and to tell their
stories.
According to the site, the work of NL Press journalists is available for licensing, purchase, contract or through a
syndication wire service.
