New Yorker launches digital edition

New Yorker addicts no longer have to wait for the print edition of the mag to arrive at their doorsteps, as it is now available in digital format. According to a report from paidcontent.org, the digital offering is “the complete print New Yorker in digital format.” The advertising campaign appears to be a very soft launch, which explains the lack of information available on the New Yorker website.

The fine print in a late October ad states that the digital edition “will launch later this year” and adds “sign up now to insure that you get the first issue as soon as it is available.”  The writer at paidcontent.org said she signed up and then promptly received a copy in her inbox on Nov. 3.

The digital version is free for magazine subscribers and will cost $39.95 for a year year digital subscription, which includes access to the full archive dating back to 1929.
