The National Press Club of Canada (NPC) awarded its first series of scholarships for journalism students at its annual gala in Ottawa on June 9.
Canadore College student Jessie Worobey won the Spencer Moore Scholarship, which gives him $3000 per year for three years.
Thompson Rivers University student Gregory Sawisky received the Barbara Frum Scholarship, which is valued at $2000 per year for up to three years.
And Bethany Horne, a Universtiy of King’s College student won the National Press Club of Canada Foundation Scholarship, an award worth $1000 per year for up to three years.
The students are required to maintain good academic standing during their full-time studies.
