The National Newspaper Awards office has announced 66 finalists from 20
news organizations for this year’s honours. The Globe and Mail leads the pack with 15 finalists, followed by
the Toronto Star with 14 finalists.
The Edmonton Journal and Montreal’s La Presse have six nominations
The Hamilton Spectator have four and The Canadian Press earned three
The Ottawa Citizen, Kingston Whig-Standard, New Brunswick Telegraph
Journal, and National Post have two each.
The Guelph Mercury, Halifax Chronicle-Herald, London Free Press,
Montreal’s Gazette, Reuters, Sault Ste. Marie Star, Woodstock
Sentinel-Review, The Province, Victoria Times Colonist, and
Windsor Star have one each.
The ceremony will take place in Toronto on March 15.
