Montreal radio personality Ted Bird is joining CTV Montreal as a sports columnist, Broadcaster reports.
Bird was a news announcer for 17 years, mainly at CHOM-FM. He left the station in January, citing “philosophical and creative differences with management.” At the time, he told The Gazette:
“Radio stations used to be owned by families. They were creative people with a passion and instinct for the business. Now stations are run by corporations. They’ve taken the craft out of the hands of the craftsmen.” He also noted: “The station is targeting a younger audience and I’m not getting any younger.”
He will being his new role at CTV on March 1.
“Bird’s Eye View” will air on CTV News Montreal every Monday at 6 and 11:30 p.m.
