Karolinska Institutet is one of Europe’s largest medical universities and is provides medical research, education and information. The site is divided into a variety of topics, including the following: Indigenous Medicine, Ancient Egyptian, Traditional Chinese, Traditional Indian, Classical Islamic, and a history of Western Medicine.

People/Photos in Medicine

This site is run by the United States National Library of Medicine, which is sponsored by the National Institute of Health. Once you get to the main page, under “Historical Collections,” click on “Digital Collections.” You will have access to “Profiles in Science” which details famous scientists and doctors. You can also view “Images from the History of Medicine” (IHM). This system provides access to nearly all images in the prints and photograph collection of the Library.
