“Ron was one of those legendary gruff, tell-em-as-it-is reporters and columnists who delighted in controversy and was never afraid to ruffle feathers,” said John Honderich, chair of Torstar's board of directors.
“His passion for journalism was complete. His striving for truth and justice were the hallmarks of his work. Whenever he gruffed, people listened.”
