A group of ten second-year journalism students in Algonquin College‘s journalism program will be joining the Ottawa Sun’s team of reporters on election night.
Joe Banks, a cooordinator of the program at the Ottawa-based college says the ten students will help out the Sun’s team by collecting quotes from the winners and the losers as well as helping out with data sorting.
In addition, the rest of the class will be helping out community media in the same capacity.
Is your college or university doing anything special for the election? We’d love to hear about programs, partnerships and election-based coverage from a j-school perspective? Send us any news or comment here to let others in on student coverage.
