For those interested in the advocacy aspects of hyperlocal journalism, Robert Niles suggests journalism in 2010 is about community building.
It is particularly interesting in the context of civic journalism in the 1980s and public journalism in the 1990s. It appears these movements have migrated online but under new names. Neither of these movements gained much momentum in Canada. Will hyperlocal journalism share the same fate?
