Halifax event: Discussion on trust in social media with Mathew Ingram and Craig Silverman

The University of King’s College’s 9th annual Joseph Howe Symposium on Saturday Nov. 3 will host Craig Silverman and Mathew Ingram in talk about truth and new media.

The University of King’s College’s 9th annual Joseph Howe Symposium on Saturday Nov. 3 will host Craig Silverman and Mathew Ingram in talk about truth and new media.

Silverman, who is an authority on verification and editor of Regret the Error at the Poynter Institute, will talk about moving toward true transparency. Ingram, who is among the leaders in the conversation around the future of news, will discuss five things old media can learn from new media.

The speakers will be followed by a panel discussion on solid social media practices with CBC New Brunswick reporter Jacques Poitras, Halifax Magazine Editor Trevor J. Adams and CBCNews.ca senior writer Terra Tailleur, who is currently a King’s MJ student.
