Andrew Phillips, editor-in-chief of the Montreal Gazette, is stepping down from the newspaper, the CBC reports.
According to the CBC, staff was informed May 1 that Phillips will be leaving the Gazette May 8.
Phillips has worked in various positions at the Montreal paper over a 35-year period.
There is no further word yet on the reasons for his departure.
