Gannett newspapers are revamping their local newsrooms to accommodate a 24-hour news cycle in which reporters will file text, sound, and video to varioius media platforms including paper, the web and hand-held information devices. Gannett, the largest U.S. newspaper company, will overhaul almost 90 newsrooms to try to stem the decline in newspaper readers.
