CTV Newsnet, CTV’s 24-hour all-news network, was relaunched as CTV News Channel on May 26.
Along with the new name, changes include a new logo and new graphics. In addition, the revamped station will now include ads in its news ticker, according to a Media in Canada report.
The network had not updated its look in ten years, and part of the strategy was to focus on the CTV brand. Jana Juginovic told MiC:
“Some of the feedback that we were getting from our viewers was that they didn’t know if Newsnet was associated with CTV. So we wanted to emphasize that the anchors, the reporters and CTV News programming is on CTV News Channel.”
