RTNDA Canada, The Association of Electronic Journalists handed out its national journalism awards in Ottawa over the weekend. CTV’s B.C. broadcast took home the best large market national television newscast, while CFJC TV Kamloops nabbed the small market award and A-Channel Barrie the medium market.
The best national large market radio newscast went to Newstalk 1010 CFRB Toronto, while Zed 99 in Red Deer won in the small market category and AM800 CKLW Windsor in the medium market.
Also in radio, the Peter Gzowski Award for News Information Program went to CKNW Radio Vancouver, The Christy Clark Show for “Flashpoint: Immigration” and the Adrienne Clarkson Award for Diversity went to CBC Radio Montreal for “Never Let Go.”
And in television the Trina McQueen Award for News Information Program went to CTV Southwestern Ontario for Provincewide October 21, 2007 and the Adrienne Clarkson Award for Diversity went to Global Calgary for “Minority Report – Alberta’s Culture Collision.”
