The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) is now accepting applications for its annual Excellence in Journalism Award.

The award honours “news organizations that embrace ideals of journalistic excellence – accuracy, independence, accountability, courage, originality, etc.” There are two categories:

  • small/medium or local/regional
  • large or national media

The deadline for submissions is March 5 and the winners will be announced at a gala in Toronto on June 10.

Past winners include The Winnipeg Free Press, The Tyee, The Canadian Press and The St. John’s Telegram.
