On-air CBC personality Amanda Lang has been given significantly more (and better) airtime as CBC makes a few changes to the schedule on the CBC News Network, according to a post on the InsidetheCBC blog.
Lang left BNN to join CBC as part of October’s major CBC News relaunch. She co-hosts the business program The Lang and O’Leary Exchange, which runs from 4:30 p.m. -5 p.m. ET. As of March 1, the program will be extended to an hour and will air between 7 and 8 p.m.ET. Lang will also provide a business update at 4:30 during Carole McNeil’s program, which has been extended by thirty minutes.
The change to The Lang and O’Leary Exchange cuts Mark Kelley’s show Connect down to one hour from two.
As Paul McGrath notes in the InsidetheCBC post:
“Lang seems to have made a positive impression at the CBC since she joined the corporation, she frequently appears on The National and has hosted the flagship news program several times since she came over from BNN last fall.”
