CBC has announced that its new local radio and digital service that will be coming to the Kitchener-Waterloo and Cambridge area this fall has a home in downtown Kitchener.
Located at 117 King St. West in Kitchener, the new service is part of CBC’s plan of expanding its local coverage and follows the launch of the broadcaster’s first digital-only service in Hamilton this spring.
The federal government’s 2012 budget that saw $115 million cut from CBC’s funding over the next three years prompted the broadcaster to delay the plans it had to launch a number of new digital and radio services, including Kitchener-Waterloo, Saskatoon and London.
There is no launch date set for CBC Kitchener-Waterloo , though CBC has previously said it would be launching in Fall 2012 or Winter 2013.
