Le Conseil de presse veut sauver le titre professionnel

<p>Le Conseil de presse du Québec (CPQ) refuse de porter le poids de l'échec des négociations sur le titre professionnel (JP) et tend à nouveau la main à la Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec (FPJQ). Selon le secrétaire général de l'organisme, Guy Amyot, la FPJQ n'ayant pas l'appui du milieu journalistique pour mener à bien ce projet, sans la participation du Conseil elle n'arrivera à rien.</p>

CTVNews.ca is hiring a web journalist

The applicant will be responsible for 5-7 news stories per day, and writing headlines, photo and video captions, among other things.</p>

More journalists in jail worldwide, but none in the Americas

<p>The number of journalists imprisoned worldwide has jumped by 20 per cent from last year, according to <a href="https://www.cpj.org/reports/2011/12/journalist-imprisonments-jump-worldwide-and-iran-i.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a report</a> by the Committee to Protect Journalists. As of Dec. 1, there were 179 writers, editors and photojournalists in jail.</p><p>But for the first time since they started compiling annual prison surveys in the ‘90s, the CJP found that there were zero journalists in jail for work-related reasons in the Americas.</p>

J-Source’s <strong>Belinda Alzner</strong> spoke with the researchers about what types of stories aren’t covered the way they should be, why that is and how journalists and the public can do better.</em></p><p> </p><p>As news organizations start rounding up their top headlines of the last year, the lists will probably boast some familiar names: Will and Kate, Justin Bieber, Stephen Harper, Research in Motion, to name a few.</p>
