It is a deal that has <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/yourcommunity/2012/03/does-media-concentration-in-canada-concern-you.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">drawn criticism</a> for once again increasing the amount of media concentration in Canada.</p>

But the cost of the cases could be reduced, according to <a href="http://www.journalism.co.uk/news/alternative-libel-project-report-calls-for-libel-reform-package/s2/a548385/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a new report</a> from a British group appropriately named Alternative Libel Project.</p>
READ MORE<p>The Quebec Writers' Federation will be holding <a href="http://www.qwf.org/workshops/spring2012/sher.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a workshop</a> on April 7 with Julian Sher, an award-winning investigative journalist. Sher will discuss how to navigate tough interviews and how to sell stories in a vivid manner.</p><p>The workshop will take place in Westmount, QC. There is a registration fee involved -- $80 for QWF members and $85 for non-members. </p>
