The Sidney Hillman Foundation is now accepting nominations and submissions for the 2010 Hillman Prizes, which honour journalism that fosters social and economic justice.
According to the foundation’s website, the contest is open to journalists
and subjects globally (Canadians are welcome to apply), but work submitted must have been published in the US (in 2009).
The submission deadline is Jan. 31 and winners will be
announced in May.
The categories are: books (non-fiction), newspaper reporting, magazine reporting, film and broadcast journalism (includes television and radio), photojournalism, and blogs.
Winners receive travel to New York City for the May 26 ceremony where they will be awarded a US$5,000.
