CBC Calgary newsroom evacuated, makeshift newsroom set up at SAIT Polytechnic

<p>Due to the “worst flooding in decades,” CBC Calgary's newsroom was evacuated Thursday night. It's estimated that 75,000 people are affected by evacuation orders, including several CBC Calgary employees.</p><p> </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>We are now evacuating the <a href="https://twitter.com/CBCCalgary">@CBCCalgary</a> building because of rising water. #</p>

Bruce Gillespie appointed as editor-in-chief of J-Source as of August 1

Sun Media shuts down 134-year-old paper Midland Free Press

<p><em>Midland Free Press </em>has been shut down effective as of <a href="http://1041thedock.com/midland-free-press-closes-its-doors-for-good/">this week</a>. Everything in the office was being packed up Tuesday, and the last issue will be published June 20, said <em>Free Press </em>freelancer M. Carolyn Black in an email to J-Source. </p><p><span class="s1">"</span>I arrived yesterday morning...and the office was being packed up - computers were already gone." </p>
