After several months off, CBC’s Metro Morning host Andy Barrie is scheduled to return to his early morning slot on March 9.

Barrie took an extended leave of absence to care for his wife, who died of cancer earlier this month.

As Toronto’s blogTO notes, “Andy is something of a Toronto icon” and his “lengthy departure was sure to get noticed.”

Jane Hawtin filled in for Barrie in his absence.
