Ann Coulter: “There should be more jailed journalists”

Ann Coulter thinks more journalists ought to be thrown in jail.

During her speech at the annual Republican conference CPAC, Coulter was asked why her party was supportive of free elections in Iraq but not in Egypt. Coulter replied that “You don’t go around disturbing countries where you have a loyal ally.”

Not satisfied with the answer, the questioner pushed her further, asking “What is more important though to American values–being friends with Israel still or knowing there are jailed dissidents and journalists [in Egypt]?”

“What do you mean knowing that there are jailed journalists?” Coulter replied. “I think there should be more jailed journalists.” The crowd burst out into loud applause. She doesn’t explain her answer, instead moving on to the next question.
