“Canadian TV Switch Displeases Americans,” reported the New York Times, in a story about how American viewers accustomed to watching CBC television are upset they no longer have an option to NBC games coverage. CTV won the rights to cover the games in Canada, and CTV is apparently not available on many American cable and satellite services.
One unhappy viewer, noted the Times story, started a Facebook group for people who miss the CBC
because “they covered the Games as if they were about the athletes and
the competition, and not self-promotion of network personalities.”
