AHCJ resources and tipsheet

The U.S.-based association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) has put together a tip sheet called “Resources for covering swine flu, pandemics and preparedness.“

Some of the resources provided are only available to AHCJ members, but others are openly available online.

These include transcripts from a 2006 conference at the Nieman Foundation about news coverage of the next big health crisis. Topics include: interactions of journalists and sources, understanding risks, reporting from the frontlines and communicating news of an outbreak.
