The Coast takes CAJ’s top investigative award

<p><em>The Coast</em>'s investigation into then Halifax mayor’s role as executor of a family friend’s estate took the Canadian Association of Journalists’ top prize for investigative journalism.</p><p><span style="font-size: 10px;">Reporter Tim Bousquet of <em>The Coast</em> was the recipient of the 2012 Don McGillivray Award, which is selected from the winners of the CAJ's investigative categories. </span></p>

Globe and Mail, La Presse and Toronto Star tie at the NNA

<p>The Globe and Mail, La Presse and the Toronto Star each took home four National Newspaper Awards. Meanwhile, the Canadian Press and the <em>Ottawa Citizen</em> each took two prizes. </p><p>The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Ottawa on Friday. Canadian journalist Julia Belluz named Knight Science Journalism Fellow

Toronto Life leads nominees at National Magazine Awards

<p> </p><p>Toronto Life is leading the nominees at the National Magazine Awards with 29 nods, followed by <i>L'actualité </i>with 24 and <i>The Walrus </i>with 23.</p><p>Meanwhile, Cottage Life, Corporate Knights, Uppercase and Urbania are up for the coveted Magazine of the Year Award.</p><p>And nine magazines are up for the first time as finalists: <i>Chez Soi, Globe Style Advisor, Hazlitt, Infopresse, <span class="xn-person">Le Must</span>, New Trail, Nouveau Projet, <span class="xn-location">Ottawa</span> Citizen Style</i> and <i>Write Magazine</i>.</p>

The Globe and Mail and Global News nominated for Data Journalism Awards
