2012 Editors’ Choice Award winners announced

Jack Webster Award Foundation call for submissions

<p><strong>UPDATE: The application deadline has been extended to July 13, 2012.</strong></p><p><a href="http://www.jackwebster.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Jack Webster Foundation</a>, which recognizes excellence in B.C. journalism, has launched its 2012 awards to recognize achievements in B.C. broadcast, print and multimedia journalism. Canadian Online Publishing Awards is accepting entries

<p>The <a href="http://www.canadianonlinepublishingawards.com/rules.shtml">Canadian Online Publishing Awards</a> is accepting applications for its fourth annual all-things-digital publishing awards show.</p><p>As usual, the COPAs have been divided into three divisions: Green (digital journalism from newspapers and broadcasters), Red (digital journalism from consumer, custom, religious and public association publishers) and Blue (digital journalism from b2b, professional association, farm and scholarly publishers).</p>

Michelle Lang Fellowship now accepting applications

<p><a href="http://www.calgaryherald.com/michelle-lang-fellowship/fellowship.html">The Michelle Lang Fellowship</a> is now accepting applications.</p><p>The Fellowship offers a young reporter looking to launch his or her journalism career the opportunity to work in two different major newsrooms, on a variety of different assignments. The Fellow will work for approximately six months each at both <em>The Calgary Herald</em> and Postmedia News in Ottawa.</p>

Atlantic Journalism Awards announces winners

<p> </p><p>Excellence in Atlantic Canadian journalism was recognized Saturday evening in Fredricton, NB at the 31<sup>st</sup> <a href="http://micro.newswire.ca/release.cgi?rkey=2005053942&view=21282-0&Start=&htm=0">Atlantic Journalism Awards</a>.</p><p>Gold and silver awards were given out in 28 categories including online news reporting, enterprise reporting (print and radio), best multimedia feature, feature writing (multiple mediums).</p>

Hamilton Spectator big winner at Ontario Newspaper Awards

<p>The Spectator took home 10 awards at <a href="http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2012/05/05/torstar_papers_take_19_prizes_at_ontario_newspapers_awards_dinner.html">Saturday's awards ceremony</a>, including three that oe reporter - Jon Wells - won for feature, entertainment and travel reporting.</p><p>The Guelph Mercury won five awards while the Waterloo Record took four.</p><p>Two reporters each took home a pair of awards: Shawn Jeffors of the Sarnia Observer and Jason Kryk of the Windsor Star.</p>

National Newspaper Awards winners and runners-up

J-Source and ProjetJ win Canadian Association of Journalists President’s Award
