14 Canadian newsrooms win RTDNA International Regional Murrow Awards

<p> </p><h1> </h1><p>35 Canadian entries from over 14 newsrooms across Canada have won the regional Edward R. Murrow Awards from RTDNA International.</p><p>The winners will receive their awards on June 15 during the Radio-Television Digital News Association Canada’s national conference in Toronto, and will also go on to compete for national honours.</p>

Jennifer Pagliaro, Katie May named Goff Penny award winners for young Canadian journalists

<p><em>Toronto Star</em>’s <a href="https://twitter.com/jpags">Jennifer Pagliaro</a> and <em>Lethbridge Herald</em>’s <a href="https://twitter.com/thatkatiemay">Katie May</a> have been selected as the two recipients of the Goff Penny Memorial Prize for Young Canadian Journalists, in the over 25,000 and under 25,000 circulation classes respectively.</p>

Beyond Borders accepting media award submissions

<p><a href="http://www.beyondborders.org/wp/">Beyond Borders</a> is accepting <a href="http://www.beyondborders.org/wp/media-awards/">award submissions</a> that highlight the work of Canadian journalists covering issues related to the sexual exploitation of children.</p><p>Deadline for submission is September 15, 2013.</p><p>Submissions should have aired or published up to and including Aug. 31, 2013. Beyond Borders will announce the award on November 18. Award winners receive $500 and a commemorative item.</p>

UPDATED: CAJ finalists announced

<p>CAJ has announced the finalists for its annual awards commemorating outstanding journalism in 2012.</p><p>The winners will be announced on May 4 at the CAJ Awards gala and conference banquet in Ottawa. The winning entry in most categories will receive a $500 cash prize. Jack Webster Foundation names 2013 fellows

<p>The <a href="http://www.jackwebster.com/">Jack Webster Foundation</a> announced more than $14,000 in funding for its 2013 fellowships. The foundation offers B.C.-based journalist access to professional development opportunities.</p><p>The <a href="http://www.jackwebster.com/fellowships/recipients.php">fellowships</a> were awarded to Charelle Evelyn, reporter at the <em>Prince George Citizen</em>, Claudia Lau, reporter at Fairchild TV, Elaine O'Connor, reporter at <em>The Province</em> and Kelly Sinoski, reporter at the <em>Vancouver Sun. </em></p>

Yukon News wins five Community Newspaper Awards; Ubyssey leads in campus paper categories

Winners announced for Asia Pacific Foundation media fellowships
