Election 2011: The media coverage

Want to track the election coverage? Here’s a listing of election coverage sites from some of Canada’s major media outlets.

CBC’s election coverage is led by news chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge, covering his 13th federal election. The public broadcaster has launched Vote Compass, a new initiative with the University of Toronto, designed to reach out to Canadian communities. “Wherever you live, whatever matters to you, CBC News will be there, bringing a street-level view of the campaign.” The CBC’s coverage extends to nearly all of its news programming. It’s also commissioned two panels, including one convened by the CBC Ombudsmen’s office, to evalate the broadcaster’s election coverage. Here’s what the rest of the outlets are doing:

The Toronto Star

The Globe and Mail

The National Post

CBC

CTV

Global News

CPAC

Postmedia

Postmedia also produced a video introducing their election coverage team.
