The 2009 Western Magazine Awards competition opens on February 2, 2009 and closes on March 2, 2009. Winners of written and visual categories receive $750; winners of the Gold Awards receive $1,000. New awards this year include the Student Writing Award and the Environmental Award. Also new: applicants can enter the same piece in as many categories as they like, and no longer need to submit any hard copies for visual and written awards (only Magazine of the Year). Details will be available on the WMA’s website on February 2nd.
