The Western Magazine Awards held its annual gala event this past weekend to celebrate the very best in magazine journalism in the four western provinces plus Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Vancouver magazine was awarded the top prize, best magazine for the region, while the relatively new unlimited was awarded best new mag award. Blackflash won best magazine for Saskatchewan, Border Crossings for Manitoba, Vancouver for B.C/Yukon and Alberta Views for Alberta/Northwest Territories.
As well, this year’s lifetime achievement award went to Andris Taskans, editor of Prairie Fire.
The event was held at River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond B.C. on Friday evening.
