Angelo Persichilli, the latest person to run Prime Minister Stephen Harper's communications office has stepped down, telling the Globe and Mail that he "couldn't handle that kind of stress".
Last September, Persichilli, then 63, left his jobs as political editor of Italian-language newspaper Corriere Canadese and as a commentator and senior official with Omni-TV in Toronto, to move to Ottawa. He was the 11th person to serve as Harper's senior communications person in 10 years and the sixth person since Harper moved into the PMO.
