Seed, the American science magazine, and Scienceblogs.com have won major awards for innovation and excellence in science journalism. The magazine was awarded the UTNE 2006 Independent Press Award for Best Science/Technology coverage. Its science blog, Pharnygula, won Best Science Blog and the blog Respectful Insolence won Best Medical/Health Issues Blog at the 2006 Weblog Awards. Scienceblogs was launched earlier this year and has already grown into the largest online science community in the world, according to Seed Media Group.
