The University of British Columbia appointed its first “science journalist in residence” this year.
Nicola Jones was a graduate of the first class at UBC’s School of Journalism in 2000. She’ll teach the new Science Journalism Initiative at the school this year.
Jones has written for New Science and Nature magazine in the U.K.
Students at the school won the most national science writing scholarships (five of 12) in Canada for 2008.
