RTNDF, the foundation arm of The Association of Electronic Journalists, has established a new scholarship for broadcast journalism students.
Funded by 660 News in Calgary, the scholarship will be called the 660 News Diversity Scholarship.
According to a press release, the scholarship will be awarded for the following:
“The 660 News Diversity Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in any year of a qualified broadcast journalism program, who submits a story, feature or series, which best explores the issue of diversity. Entries will be judged on editorial excellence,quality of production, quality of interviews and relevance to a multicultural society. Stories or features that would be considered applicable for submission can include but are not limited to issues of concern to women, persons living with disabilities, Canada’s aboriginal community, and persons of a visible minority.”
The scholarship is worth $2000.
