Thomson and Reuters confirmedthat they are working on a plan that would see Thomson buy Reuters for $17.6 billion, Reuters Canada reports. Under the terms of the proposal, Reuters chief executive Tom Glocer would become chief executive of a new group called Thomson-Reuters. The Thomson family would own 53 per cent of the new company.
