Imagine a place where journalists could pitch stories as soon as they hit ‘save.’ That’s the idea behind the Reporterist, a beta portfolio site designed to give freelancers a place to promote their work, attach prices to their content and connect with content-seeking media outlets. Is the eBay model for news production viable? And ultimately, will it deliver news to readers more quickly and more cheaply? OJR spoke with Reporterist founders Hemant and Sindya Bhanoo about the site’s development and goals.
