Mack Laing, a teacher, mentor and friend to generations of journalism students, died Saturday in London, Ontario. There are few details available yet, but it is unlikely that there will be a funeral service. Instead, there will be a memorial evening organizedat the London City Press Club at some point. Laing taughtin the University of Western Ontario’s journalism program until his retirement in the mid-’90s.
