In a November 24 column, Toronto Star’s public editor Kathy English offers a glimpse at Regret The Error: How Media Mistakes Pollute the Press and Imperil Free Speech, a new book by Regret The Error founder and editor Craig Silverman. She further examines her own publication’s track record: “Most corrections published in the Star are a result of errors identified by readers, and our newsroom accuracy and corrections committee has identified a reluctance on the part of some journalists to admit their own mistakes.”
