The National Newspaper Awards were handed out in Montreal and The Globe and Mail led the pack with six wins, including a prize in the new online category, Multimedia Feature, for its Talking to the Taliban series.
Graeme Smith, producer of the series, also won the International Reporting award for the second year in a row.
The Toronto Star picked up four awards, while the Hamilton Spectator and La Presse each won two.
