Global Toronto has named Beatrice Politi as its new managing editor effective immediately.
Politi has been Global Toronto's health specialist for the last five years and also created the half-hour program “Health First.” She can be seen regularly on Global’s national newsmagazine program 16×9.
Before joining Global News, she worked at CityTV as the political specialist on Parliament Hill as well as CP24 and A-Channel. She got her start as an intern for CBC Toronto and later became a reporter and anchor for the news outlet.
Politi has received many awards for her work. Her investigative report on the potential health risks of energy drinks won the 2010 Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) best in-depth feature award and an honourable mention for the 2010 Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) Dan McArthur award. Politi has degrees from York University and Ryerson University.
