Cory Bilyea  — 2023-2024

During my experience in Montreal, I was able to produce several stories on various platforms. Many of these were a collaborative effort by all three of the fellows.

I was able to utilize my skills in photography, videography and writing while learning new skills in broadcast writing, working in a team environment and using new computer programs to enhance my stories.

My pitch to CJF-CBC Indigenous was to explore how Indigenous people are working to revitalize their languages and I was able to highlight two organizations, one in an urban setting and one on reserve.

The importance of language revitalization remains a top priority for First Nations people. Future generations will benefit from the work these organizations are doing today.

Thanks again
