Winnipeg-based CanWest Global Communications Corp. has teamed up with Goldman Sachs & Co. to make a bid for Alliance Atlantis Communications, the Globe and Mail reported today. Can West and Goldman, a New York-based private equity group, are expected to offer as much as $2.1 billion for Alliance’s 13 specialty channels, which includes a 50 per cent interest in the lucrative CSI crime drama franchise.
