A Peterborough-based news service is hoping to develop a new form of journalism. Axiom News describes its operation as stakeholder journalism, working with community groups and non-government organizations. Journalists work with organizations to tell stories of their successes, the challenges they’ve overcome and best practices. But rather than press releases, they write articles instead. From their website, an online story archive grows, a knowledge bank full of anecdotes, contact names, and searchable know-how is created for these groups and the public at-large. The idea is to create a cohesive culture and sense of shared history.
