READ MORE<p> </p><p>The <a href="http://www.gordonsinclairfoundation.ca/fellowship.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gordon Sinclair Roving Reporter Bursary</a> is now accepting applications.</p><p>The bursary supports field research and a reporting trip by an early-career Canadian journalist who has recently graduated from one of Canada’s university-level journalism programs. The purpose of the $15,000 bursary is to encourage a young journalist to get off the beaten track and to spend a considerable period away on a reporting on a Canadian or foreign assignment.</p>
READ MORE<p> </p><p>Galit Rodan, a Toronto-based freelance photographer, <a href="http://cjf-fjc.ca/content/galit-rodan-2013" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has won the 2013 Tom Hanson Photojournalism Award</a>.</p><p>The award, which was established in 2009 in the memory of award-winning photojournalist Tom Hanson, is given out annually to a young journalist by The Canadian Journalism Foundation and the Canadian Press.</p>

READ MORE<p> </p><p>The Canadian Journalism Foundation has opened applications for its <a href="http://cjf-fjc.ca/content/excellence-journalism-award" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Excellence in Journalism Award</a>. The award will be given out in two categories: Large or national media and small or local media.</p><p>According to The CJF, the award "embraces ideals of democratic citizenship, rigorous professional practice, honesty, accuracy, independence, public accountability and initiative as well as artistry, clarity of style and high quality of presentation."</p>
READ MORE<p> </p><p>The Canadian Association of Journalists is accepting applications for its 2012 awards program until Feb. 8.</p><p>Applications for the awards, which will be given out at the CAJ annual conference taking place May 3-5 in Ottawa, will be submitted online this year — a first for CAJ.</p>

McDonald Journalism Awards.</p><p>The awards, which have been given out in this capacity since 2003, are open to student newspapers across the country.</p>
