<p><span style="font-size: 10px;">The Michener Awards Foundation announced six finalists for meritorious public service journalism.</span></p><p>The finalists are: Enquête; <em>The Coast</em>; Postmedia News and <em>Ottawa Citizen</em>; <em>La Presse</em>; <em>Toronto Star</em>; and <em>Vancouver Sun</em>. The winner will be announced on June 18 at the Michener Awards ceremony hosted at Rideau Hall in Ottawa by the David Johnston, the governor general of Canada.</p>

Murrow Awards from RTDNA International.</p><p>The winners will receive their awards on June 15 during the Radio-Television Digital News Association Canada’s national conference in Toronto, and will also go on to compete for national honours.</p>

READ MORE<p>The <a href="http://www.calgaryherald.com/michelle-lang-fellowship/fellowship.html">Michelle Lang Fellowship</a> is now accepting applications for a position starting in September 2013.</p><p>The recipient will spend six months working with Postmedia News in Ottawa followed by another six months at the <em>Calgary Herald</em>, and will have the opportunity to work on a special in-depth project.</p><p>The 2013 fellow will receive a salary of approximately $40,000.</p>
