Last week, the University of British Columbia’s student
paper, The Ubyssey, published a special issue—the Colours Issue—that features articles
exploring race and diversity at the Vancouver-based school.

The series features a half-dozen or so personal pieces
about diversity in Vancouver, tackling issues such as: how can you identify
with a certain culture when you were born in Canada?; a Sikh child’s first
haircut; and asserting your status as a minority when you look white.
